The MK-III Corer is constructed of mild steel and is covered with an inorganic zinc compound and an epoxy primer and overcoat to protect against rust and corrosion. The unit holds a 0.25m2 stainless steel sample box (50cm x 50 cm) and has a maximum penetration of 60 cm. Special features include: automatic door closing device, pretrip preventer bar with posi-action hook, quick release spade latches, jacking dolly for mounting and removing sample box and spade. Unit description includes one stainless steel sample box. Overall weight of Corer is approximately 740 kilos. Overall height is 212 cm with a deck footprint of 165 cm x 192 cm.
