The BX-750-AL Deep Sea Geochemical Box Corer is the largest corer in the BX-7 series and is used primarily at deep ocean depths. The corer is manufactured in two configurations which differ only in the ability to remove the sample box.

The Model BX-750(A) carries a sample box 30cm x 30cm x 90cm with an ability to remove the entire sample box, including the arms and spades. The Model BX-750(B) carries a fixed box integrated with the frame. Standard features include: a specially designed flow-through box to reduce corer ""bow wake"" effect, double door sealing feature, Teflon® slides for smooth corer penetration, adjustable penetration limit stops, and pretrip safety pin. All aluminum parts are anodized or painted and fasteners are stainless steel. A mold for casting lead weight pack and frame weights is included. Overall weight of the complete corer unit is approximately 712 kilos.

Unit description for model 750(A) includes one complete removable box with arms and spades and one set of box lifting handles. Unit description for model 750(B) includes a single integral box with arms and spades.. A special large volume Van Veen grab insert is available for use in this frame (see below).

Box, stainless steel. Fitted with spade rotators and aluminum arms. Spades made of stainless steel. Ready for insertion into core box head of unit BX-750(A).

BX-750(B)
Deep Sea Geochemical Box Corer. Same as above, except with one integral aluminum box with arms and spades and one weight mold. Ready for at-sea operations.
